Israel’s Communications Ministry has granted a special license to NSR Ltd. to conduct a “marketing experiment” regarding the provision of VoIP telephone services over Wi-Fi hotspots. The experiment will present Wi-Fi VoIP as an alternative, of sorts, to cell phone services, in specific locations such as airports, hotels, malls, and coffee shops, where wireless hotspots are available.
